Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region v. Knodell
Providers of physicians’ services and family planning services brought action against state entities, challenging the constitutionality of appropriation bill which professed to eliminate Medicaid funding for abortion providers and their affiliates. The concurrence would have held that the state constitution unambiguously exempts appropriation bills from the single subject requirement, but would otherwise affirm the circuit court’s finding that the bill was unconstitutional on Equal Protection grounds.
