In re Dallas County

Dallas County is asking the Texas Supreme Court to declare unconstitutional the newly established Fifteenth Court of Appeals, which was granted exclusive statewide jurisdiction over certain cases against state officials. The Texas Constitution, Dallas County argues, does not permit state lawmakers to create a statewide court of appeals or to deprive existing court of appeals of their jurisdiction.
