Coronell v. Georgia
Detainees challenge a state law increasing the number of offenses that require upfront bail payment for pretrial release under the state due process clause. A trial court dismissed the complaint on the merits or, alternatively, as moot. The Georgia Supreme Court declined to review the merits dismissal while the mootness ruling, which is on appeal in the intermediate court, stands.
