Gamble v. State

Docket number
CR-24-690
Date

The Arizona Supreme Court held that it is not unreasonable under the state’s search and seizure clause for police to arrest someone for a lesser crime when there is probable cause for that arrest, even if the arrest is pretext for investigating a more serious crime. In reaching that holding, the court overruled a 2000 precedent.
