Keenen v. Russ

Docket number
122686
Date

The Oklahoma Supreme Court held unconstitutional, as applied to the state’s public employee retirement system, a law requiring state entities to divest from financial companies that “boycott energy companies.” The court found the law creates a dual purpose for investment decisions that violates a clause requiring the retirement system to be administered for the sole purpose of providing for the system’s benefit.
