Loe v. Kansas
A Kansas trial court temporarily blocked state bans on the provision of puberty blockers or hormone therapy to minors for gender-affirming treatment. The court found a substantial likelihood that the parent and youth plaintiffs would prevail on at least their claim that the bans violate the fundamental right of parents to make medical decisions on behalf of their children, encompassed in the state constitution’s natural rights and personal autonomy protections.
